A Risk Taken for Jaz

A Risk Taken for Jaz A Private Search Jacob Pitman has spent weeks planning his entry into the facility where he believes Jaz Pitman is held. His preparation gives him confidence, but the plan rests on limited information and a narrow window before security responds. A Different Captive Jacob finds Abigail McKinney rather than Jaz. Although his immediate objective is to locate his sister, he cannot leave another captive behind when an escape appears possible. A Complicated Rescue He gets Abigail out, but the rescue does not answer the question of where Jaz is. Jacob’s choice expands his responsibility without diminishing his original commitment to his sister.

The Price of Cooperation

The Price of Cooperation Captured Again After returning to the facility, Jacob is struck by a dart and wakes imprisoned. His attempt to rescue Jaz has made him a captive too, leaving him with no control over the timing or terms of his next decision. A Threat Framed as a Deal A representative promises to release Jaz if Jacob accepts an injection and does not resist. The offer is presented as a bargain, but the threat against his sister makes refusal feel impossible. Protecting Someone Else Jacob agrees, choosing Jaz’s chance at freedom over his own immediate safety. The decision shows a consistent moral center, though the experiment leaves him vulnerable to changes he cannot yet understand.

A Place Beyond Escape

A Place Beyond Escape Freedom Through Others Andy and Wren free Jacob and bring him out before the pack’s operation destroys the facility. Jacob survives because Jaz’s plea and the community’s resources reach him when his own escape plan has failed. A Changed Future Jacob learns that Abigail and Jaz have also been transformed by Silver Sky’s experiments. The revelation is frightening, but it gives him a shared reality with the people who rescued him. Choosing to Stay Jacob accepts Abigail’s invitation to build a life with her and remains connected to Jaz. His path shifts from solitary rescue attempts toward a community in which responsibility and protection can be shared.
